Muay Thai camps in Bangkok

Bangkok is the city of the great Muay Thai stadiums and of urban camps, more traditional than those on the islands. People come for technique, clinch and the capital’s atmosphere. Of the four camps listed here, only Khongsittha publishes prices (stays with accommodation): for the others you have to contact them.

Why train here

  • The Rajadamnern and Lumpinee stadiums are in the city: train by day and watch a fight at night.
  • Traditional camps focused on technique and clinch.
  • A city served by Skytrain and metro, handy without a scooter.

Best season

According to the Thai government’s official portal, the year has three seasons: summer, from mid-February to mid-May (April is the hottest month); the rains, from mid-May to mid-October (August and September are the wettest); and winter, cooler and dry, from mid-October to mid-February.

Getting there

Bangkok is the country’s main air hub. Traffic is heavy: to reach a camp, favour public transport or allow a margin by taxi.

Where to stay

  • Some camps have rooms on site, subject to availability (see their pages).
  • Around a BTS or metro station to limit travel.
  • We publish no room prices: ask the camp or the host.

Training without breaking the bank

  • Ask for per-session or weekly rates before committing: PK Saenchai, FA Group and Yokkao publish no price list.
  • Stay near a transit station to avoid taxis.
  • Eat where locals eat: street food is part of a sensible budget.

What to do nearby

  • The river temples, including Wat Arun.
  • Chatuchak market and the night markets.
  • A fight night at Rajadamnern or Lumpinee.
